How to Select and Store Mangos
The selection of ripe mangoes can be a matter determined by smell or touch. A ripe mango will have a definite fruity aroma emitted by the end of the stem. Mangoes can be considered ready to eat when slightly soft to the touch and tender to slight pressure, much like ripe peaches. The fruit will taste better when you have a yellow tinge, but color can be red, yellow, green, orange or some of these combinations. Because mangoes are a tropical fruit, try to store them in a room at room temperature until ready to make juice.
